WOMAN: Outstanding Women in Business

WOMAN: Outstanding Women in Business

imagesNDPSOYNI

Old hurdles such as gender barriers have practically been overcome. This is clearly seen in the business world where men and women are sharing opportunities and responsibilities based on qualifications and not gender. In fact, women have contributed greatly to developments in business.

Let’s take a brief look at three such notable women in business; a world-class CEO, an innovative entrepreneur, and a leading consultant, and see how they have helped shape the business world as we know it today.

Carol Bartz (Yahoo!, CEO)

In 2010, CEOs of fifteen Fortune 500 companies were women. One of these influential women in business is Yahoo! President and CEO, Carol Bartz, who became its Chief Executive Officer in early 2009. At that time, Bartz took over the helm of the third most-visited website when its market share was declining. She faced the difficult task of turning the company around and was able to score deals that enabled Yahoo! to maintain and enhance its core business. Despite some expressed doubts that Yahoo!’s position has improved; many believe that Bartz has performed better than expected. Bartz served as CEO at AutoDesk before joining Yahoo!.

Anita Roddick (The Body Shop, founder)

Many successful women in business are also ground-breaking entrepreneurs. One such woman was Anita Roddick, founder of the cosmetics firm, The Body Shop. Roddick started her company in England in 1991 and, over the years, it grew to become the world’s second largest beauty products franchise. But The Body Shop is more than just a successful venture; it is a revolutionary way of doing business as well. It was founded on the principles of “ethical consumerism” and fair trading practices, which contributed to the brand’s image. Roddick died in 2007.

Linda Solomon (Deloitte Consulting)

Expert women in business can also be found in the consulting industry. Linda Solomon is a leading consultant at Deloitte. Solomon has a considerable consulting career which began in 1990. She now serves as head of the Deloitte’s Homeland Security consulting services, which is one of the firm’s most important divisions. Solomon has implemented a successful financial optimization program in her sector as well. Solomon was named one of the top 25 consultants in 2010 by ConsultingMag.com.

These three women are only a few examples of how women have influenced the business landscape. This proves that in business competence, not gender, determines success. Women now have better chances of landing in topnotch positions, gone are the days that women are left in their houses to take care of the family home.

Hope you enjoyed this article.  There are many many women in business today!! Please share with us your favorite or even about yourself !! We would love to hear from you…

Make it a great day!!

When Should You Post Your Social Media Content? Is There A Magic Time?

When Should You Post Your Social Media Content? Is There A Magic Time?

When Should You Post Your Social Media Content? Is There A Magic Time?

How do you successfully get the most views to your social media updates? It seems almost impossible and can be a major letdown when you see someone randomly go viral. Just how does one do that? Did they use a different word than you? Or, did they simply find a magic time to post to social media? When it comes down to it, many people realize that they need to find that social media time sweet spot, but it is, yet again, something that seems unattainable. In this blog, we are going to talk about the various social media networks and when is a good time to post to each.
When Should You Post To Facebook?

Facebook is something we all know as a social site that helps us waste time when we no longer want to be in the office or to pay attention to things going on around us. Many office workers find that they will start to peruse Facebook when they are in a workday slump, especially towards the end of the week, according to Buffer. In fact, engagement rates on Facebook are at about 18% on Thursdays and Fridays – you know, those pesky days that stand in between you and the weekend. This is an optimal time to post your information because it has a higher likelihood of being seen. Buffer also points out that 86% of posts are made Monday through Friday, with a few posts on Saturdays. Buffer does say that another study points out that while actual posting is down on Saturdays, engagement with businesses is up to about 32%. These statistics show that the optimal time to post on Facebook is towards the end of the week.
When Should You Post To Twitter?

Twitter is a hard social media network to pin down when it comes to optimal posting times. It seems more people use Twitter on their mobile devices, which gives them quicker and easier access to view tweets. Because of this, many people will check their accounts multiple times a day. Regardless of this difficulty, Hubspot was able to get a decent amount of statistics together to help find optimal posting days for Twitter. It seems Twitter gets the most views Mondays through Thursdays around 1 to 3PM and the worst times to post are every day after 8PM and Fridays after 3PM. While this is all up in the air depending on your client base, Hubspot also points out that they can truly say what brings about more interaction – posting photos. Here are some fun stats about tweeting photos:

You have a 36% increase in clicks.
A 31% increase in site visits.
A 41% increase in retweets.
A 48% increase in favorites.
A 33% increase in changing visitors into leads.
A 55% increase in leads.

While you’re working to find that sweet spot for timing, know that it is solid fact that you will bring in more views and leads simply by posting a photograph.
When Should You Post To LinkedIN?

Because LinkedIN is specifically used for businesses and business professionals, it is oftentimes used right before the workday begins and right after it ends, according to Entreprenuer.com. Entrepreneur also says that it is often used on Tuesdays and Thursdays around those times. If you make a post during normal working hours, it is less likely to receive views or bring in any clicks and visits. Try posting your LinkedIN material on Tuesdays and Thursdays specifically at around 7-8:30AM local time and avoid posting Mondays through Fridays between 1 and 5 PM.
When Should You Post To Google+?

G+ is yet another social media site that is best posted to in the morning. On the same infographic provided for Twitter, Hubspot says that the usual time people are on G+ is 9 – 10AM. The best time to receive the most engagement on your G+ updates is Wednesdays at 9AM. You will get more interaction and +1’s for posts made on those days. The worst time that Hubspot found for posting on G+ is very early mornings when people are either commuting to work and are too groggy to function fully or in the evenings when they are spending time with their family. An important fact about G+ and demographics is, according to Hubspot, it is growing rapidly with people between the ages of 45 and 54 years old. Keep this in mind as you post to G+ and make it friendlier for that demographic.
Learn Which Times Work The Best For Your Social Media

While these statistics are really helpful, it is wise for you to learn what times work the best for your specific audience. You can give the above a try, but if you notice you have little to no engagement on the suggested times, you should start to tweak it. Try earlier, if that doesn’t work, try later. The times vary for each business and person. Some people have more luck with posts made late at night because their audience is still awake while some have luck with early morning posts.

Either way, you have to make sure you know what your audience wants and when they are online. You can find this out by looking at your analytics, or by simply asking your clients what times they are usually online. In fact, this is an integral part to having a successful social media strategy; your clients can help you improve everything regarding your social media presence. Try these times out and start tweaking until you reach the time slot that works the best for you!

How to Discover Your Life Purpose in About 20 Minutes

How to Discover Your Life Purpose in About 20 Minutes

pur

How do you discover your real purpose in life? I’m not talking about your job, your daily responsibilities, or even your long-term goals. I mean the real reason why you’re here at all — the very reason you exist.

Perhaps you’re a rather nihilistic person who doesn’t believe you have a purpose and that life has no meaning. Doesn’t matter. Not believing that you have a purpose won’t prevent you from discovering it, just as a lack of belief in gravity won’t prevent you from tripping. All that a lack of belief will do is make it take longer, so if you’re one of those people, just change the number 20 in the title of this blog entry to 40 (or 60 if you’re really stubborn). Most likely though if you don’t believe you have a purpose, then you probably won’t believe what I’m saying anyway, but even so, what’s the risk of investing an hour just in case?

Here’s a story about Bruce Lee which sets the stage for this little exercise. A master martial artist asked Bruce to teach him everything Bruce knew about martial arts. Bruce held up two cups, both filled with liquid. “The first cup,” said Bruce, “represents all of your knowledge about martial arts. The second cup represents all of my knowledge about martial arts. If you want to fill your cup with my knowledge, you must first empty your cup of your knowledge.”

If you want to discover your true purpose in life, you must first empty your mind of all the false purposes you’ve been taught (including the idea that you may have no purpose at all).

So how to discover your purpose in life? While there are many ways to do this, some of them fairly involved, here is one of the simplest that anyone can do. The more open you are to this process, and the more you expect it to work, the faster it will work for you. But not being open to it or having doubts about it or thinking it’s an entirely idiotic and meaningless waste of time won’t prevent it from working as long as you stick with it — again, it will just take longer to converge.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Take out a blank sheet of paper or open up a word processor where you can type (I prefer the latter because it’s faster).
  2. Write at the top, “What is my true purpose in life?”
  3. Write an answer (any answer) that pops into your head. It doesn’t have to be a complete sentence. A short phrase is fine.
  4. Repeat step 3 until you write the answer that makes you cry. This is your purpose.

That’s it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a counselor or an engineer or a bodybuilder. To some people this exercise will make perfect sense. To others it will seem utterly stupid. Usually it takes 15-20 minutes to clear your head of all the clutter and the social conditioning about what you think your purpose in life is. The false answers will come from your mind and your memories. But when the true answer finally arrives, it will feel like it’s coming to you from a different source entirely.

For those who are very entrenched in low-awareness living, it will take a lot longer to get all the false answers out, possibly more than an hour. But if you persist, after 100 or 200 or maybe even 500 answers, you’ll be struck by the answer that causes you to surge with emotion, the answer that breaks you. If you’ve never done this, it may very well sound silly to you. So let it seem silly, and do it anyway.

As you go through this process, some of your answers will be very similar. You may even re-list previous answers. Then you might head off on a new tangent and generate 10-20 more answers along some other theme. And that’s fine. You can list whatever answer pops into your head as long as you just keep writing.

At some point during the process (typically after about 50-100 answers), you may want to quit and just can’t see it converging. You may feel the urge to get up and make an excuse to do something else. That’s normal. Push past this resistance, and just keep writing. The feeling of resistance will eventually pass.

You may also discover a few answers that seem to give you a mini-surge of emotion, but they don’t quite make you cry — they’re just a bit off. Highlight those answers as you go along, so you can come back to them to generate new permutations. Each reflects a piece of your purpose, but individually they aren’t complete. When you start getting these kinds of answers, it just means you’re getting warm. Keep going.

It’s important to do this alone and with no interruptions. If you’re a nihilist, then feel free to start with the answer, “I don’t have a purpose,” or “Life is meaningless,” and take it from there. If you keep at it, you’ll still eventually converge.

When I did this exercise, it took me about 25 minutes, and I reached my final answer at step 106. Partial pieces of the answer (mini-surges) appeared at steps 17, 39, and 53, and then the bulk of it fell into place and was refined through steps 100-106. I felt the feeling of resistance (wanting to get up and do something else, expecting the process to fail, feeling very impatient and even irritated) around steps 55-60. At step 80 I took a 2-minute break to close my eyes, relax, clear my mind, and to focus on the intention for the answer to come to me — this was helpful as the answers I received after this break began to have greater clarity.

Here was my final answer: to live consciously and courageously, to resonate with love and compassion, to awaken the great spirits within others, and to leave this world in peace.

When you find your own unique answer to the question of why you’re here, you will feel it resonate with you deeply. The words will seem to have a special energy to you, and you will feel that energy whenever you read them.

Discovering your purpose is the easy part. The hard part is keeping it with you on a daily basis and working on yourself to the point where you become that purpose.

If you’re inclined to ask why this little process works, just put that question aside until after you’ve successfully completed it. Once you’ve done that, you’ll probably have your own answer to why it works. Most likely if you ask 10 different people why this works (people who’ve successfully completed it), you’ll get 10 different answers, all filtered through their individual belief systems, and each will contain its own reflection of truth.

Obviously, this process won’t work if you quit before convergence. I’d guesstimate that 80-90% of people should achieve convergence in less than an hour. If you’re really entrenched in your beliefs and resistant to the process, maybe it will take you 5 sessions and 3 hours, but I suspect that such people will simply quit early (like within the first 15 minutes) or won’t even attempt it at all. But if you’re drawn to read this blog (and haven’t been inclined to ban it from your life yet), then it’s doubtful you fall into this group.

Give it a shot! At the very least, you’ll learn one of two things: your true purpose in life ;)

Online Marketing: A Checklist for Struggling Businesses

Online Marketing: A Checklist for Struggling Businesses

checklist

For the past several weeks,it has been posted topics ranging from social media optimization to creating headlines for business blogs. We understand that most of these topics are overwhelming when taken individually, which is why we created the below checklist to help online marketers get their content strategies back on track for those struggling in business & avoiding burnout.

Social Media

Creating social media from scratch is one of the more challenging aspects of content creation. It’s essential, of course, especially when platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ are capable of pushing your content out to more readers and potential converts (i.e., site visitors who sign up for newsletters, buy products, or perform any other pro-marketing action).

The first step for all of these profiles is to create accounts. Next, you need to fill out the various info sections (links to sites, “about us,” etc.) and use a profile picture that emphasizes brand awareness.

Facebook

  1. Post links to original content and info relating to your business on a daily schedule.
  2. Intermix “marketing posts” with outbound links to related articles, infographics, visuals, and anything else that could generate follower interaction.
  3. Find pages, groups, and organizations that align with your business. Share their content when appropriate.
  4. Like, share, and respond to followers at all times.

Twitter

  1. Start by posting several tweets a day with relevant hashtags and links.
  2. Follow industry-related businesses, organizations, and professional Twitter handles on a regular basis (Note: Your “Following” and “Followers” should be even).
  3. Repurpose Facebook-style content and don’t be nervous posting anything that comes to mind (as long as it’s appropriate for marketing).

Google+

  1. Emphasize the profile creation and make sure all open fields are filled out.
  2. Like FB and Twitter, add professionals and other businesses into your circles.
  3. Use G+ as a sounding board for the rest of your content, but make sure the posts are original.

Blog

Blogs are where everything happens. Whether you have dedicated pages on your site or run a blog through a WordPress platform, these are much different than everyday websites. For one, you always need to be creating posts. What kind of posts? Anything that is interesting, entertaining, and related to your business and marketing campaign. Here are a few tips for getting a blog rolling:

  1. Start by posting twice a day. One can be shorter, perhaps commentary on a trending news article, but the other needs to be highly informative (like a how-to) and lasting.
  2. Actively monitor comments, follows, likes, and re-blogs. Your first wave of followers will help your business blog reach new readers.
  3. Organize content into pages and comprehensive lists.
  4. Every post needs to be shared through social media.

Now, a few pieces of advice for maximizing the effectiveness of every post:

  1. Headlines need to be attention-grabbing and tease at what readers will learn.
  2. Use links to increase authority and exposure to other websites.
  3. Multimedia is a refreshing way to break up big chunks of content. Use pictures, videos, infographics, charts, and even cartoons to illustrate your articles.
  4. Always have a call-to-action or “About the Author” section at the end to help readers “learn more” (i.e., visit your business’ site).

Website

Company websites are what tie blogs and social media together. Without a solid website, businesses lose out on a huge chunk of marketing potential. Every site is different, of course, especially when businesses hire outside contractors to create them. Even so, businesses need to be on the lookout for a number of market-friendly tools, including:

  1. Obvious social media buttons leading to Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
  2. A news-style section that links visitors to dedicated blog pages.
  3. A completely filled out About Us and Contact section.
  4. Easy-to-use navigation bars.
  5. A landing page plus a home page (one is for selling; the latter for explaining what a company does).

How Viral Marketing Improves Online Efficiency

How Viral Marketing Improves Online Efficiency

imagesQWNV0HDI

Viral marketing is a promotional strategy that has been in use for quite some time and has transitioned over onto the internet quite successfully. The strength behind this particular advertising technique is in its ability to help businesses spread their marketing message a whole lot faster and with less effort. In this way it helps to not only boost your exposure but also your ability to work much more efficiently as well!

Here are 3 significant ways in which any online business can expect to benefit by using this particular promotional strategy.

Time Efficient

Typically this advertising technique involves little more than sharing your marketing message with a relatively smaller crowd who then spread the word. Working online offers the advantage in many cases of automating your efforts even further resulting in greater savings of time! As any entrepreneur will tell you time is money and therefore a precious commodity that should be used wisely!

Cost Efficient

In most cases advertising in a viral manner online involves distributing free reports or leaving business links at social site, forums, bookmarking sites or even blogging. In every case there is little or no out of pocket expenses making this advertising technique very cost efficient!

Energy Efficient

By leveraging the efforts of others you are able to channel the energy you have saved into other areas of your business. As an entrepreneur this is extremely important since most functions and/or business tasks are left up to you to complete. Avoiding fatigue in this way helps you maintain a mental alertness that can be use in more constructive and creative ways. Your mistakes will be minimized and your ability to produce more and stay motivated will benefit as well!

Remember when fatigue does set in your ambition will naturally decrease and as mentioned above and you will be more prone to making mistakes. What happens here is that not only do your miscues create business inefficiencies but they also require more time and effort later on to fix!

The biggest advantage viral marketing offers a business or person is its ability to leverage the efforts of others to spread your marketing message. When this advertising technique is put to use online the benefits it offers magnify due to the automation and global audience the internet can supply!

The single biggest advantage this promotional strategy offers is the increase efficiencies a business can experience as reviewed above. It therefore stands to reason that if you can increase efficiency you will also boost productivity with Viral Marketing thereby leading to greater sales and profits. With that said there seems to be little reason as to why you would not want to include this very effective promotional strategy into your online marketing mix!

Authenticity – Why people aren’t themselves and what that costs them

Authenticity – Why people aren’t themselves and what that costs them..

imagesAR3P6WKI

Why should you be yourself? The simple answer is ‘because everyone else is taken’ – it’s both the simple answer and an accurate answer. The important question is ‘why are we not ourselves?’ What is the pay off for not being ourselves? Ahhh, now we’re talking.

To begin with, what would cause us to not want to be ourselves? For some of us, we may have been raised in environments where it was dangerous to be who we are. Even as adults we may be working in environments that demand that we be other than who we are in order to ensure job security. So we conclude, I have to be other than I am to get what I want i.e. love, safety, income etc.

We may have learned to believe ‘who I am is not good enough to be loved, guaranteed safety, approved of’. We may have been told ‘who you are is not worth treating well’. We may have learned ‘who you are is not good enough to meet my standards for ‘being good enough’. We may become convinced that we are less than we should be.

When we feel not good enough what happens to our lives? We end up putting things on hold until we feel we ‘deserve’ by becoming good enough. We spend so much time striving to feel that we’re good enough. Have I accomplished enough, am I good looking enough, is my car big/fast/exclusive enough, is my job title high enough, do I have enough awards to be good enough? Exhausting isn’t it?

Self worth and Authenticity are intrinsically linked. The worth we have in our own eyes, a sense of worth not built on acquisition, job title, appearance, credentials – is the only worth, worth living out of. How many of us realize that we have an intrinsic worth greater than anything on the outside? If we go through life with a sense of being deficient then we are motivated to acquire value – the things that others value in the world then become our aim in life. I may not be good enough in and of myself but look what I’ve got, becomes our calling card.

Sooner or later, things fall apart, if we’re lucky. It can take many forms e.g we can lose everything we spent our whole lives accruing or we meet someone or a situation who places no value on our ‘social bling’. We run helter skelter trying to get them to ‘see’ us as our bling or we go somewhere else. But there’s a crack in the tea cup. When it finally breaks open, our break down becomes our breakthrough.

We begin to look for another way. What we’ve been looking for is a way to feel good about who we are, under all circumstance. We don’t always realize it at first since there’s much howling in pain and hanging onto fast disappearing ‘bling’.

The breakthrough cracks us wide open and everything we’ve been taught is ‘wrong’ with us, all the things we’ve been taught make us ‘not good enough’ stare us in the face. Excruciating at first but if we stay, refuse to take flight, we can transform. Now begins the re-acquainting ourselves with the ‘real’ us, all of it.

There are many transformation technologies from journalism, meditation, prayer, walking, body work, sound, vibration healing, self help groups, motivational tapes & self help books etc. We tend to gravitate towards one that works for us. Soon the pain subsides, loses its edge. We don’t feel so raw. Our lives may be in shambles around us but we can stand to be alive and increasingly we can stand to be ourselves. We live in a time of infinite help with wonderful teachers who can assist us in moving out of our debris; emotional, psychological and spiritual.

Not being who we are, may be something we picked up at our beginning but was never a part of our being and we need not continue with it.  “I am who I am” ..Authenticity is the key!!

Just What Is Traffic Cipher? An Insiders Analysis…

Just What Is Traffic Cipher? An Insiders Analysis…

imagesGPZV6THS

Traffic Cipher has become a common topic of discussion within the arena of internet marketing and network marketers.

The marketing landscape for web-based marketing and internet home business industry has changed considerably with the heightened scrutiny of Google, Yahoo and Facebook for marketing affiliate products or business opportunities with the PPC platform.

Don’t keep all your eggs within just one basket?

Whether you are brand new to online marketing or currently have been around the game for some time, right now there has been a great lesson learned about relying on only a single source for all of your traffic.

This has led more marketers to take a look at their options and expand their traffic sources. One traffic source that has been in place since the creation of Google is Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

SEO gives you a highly profitable source of traffic to websites, but quite often is ignored due to the opinion of being complicated, time consuming and slow to be able to notice results.

The designers of Traffic Cipher Ferny Ceballos and Raymond Fong of SEO Networker are fully competent of speaking to the complexity and technical specifications that SEO can entail. Fortunately with regard to people who do not have Science and Engineering degrees, SEO no longer needs to be a mystical science of confusion for you?

Strategy of Attack?

When it comes to taking advantage of the free traffic from search engines, having a game plan you are able to win with is vital. Being aware of the playing field and rules of the game with Googles search engines is a essential element regarding the puzzle to your success.

Are you searching for a good SEO education that is able to share the knowledge and testing that has already been applied in the Home Based and Network Marketing industry.

So many SEO trainings require you take the material and adjust to it to your niche market. If your niche market is MLM, Network Marketing or Home Based Business it is so much easier to follow along having content that is actually appropriate to your niche.

Build Intelligently

Another misunderstood area of opportunity when it comes to Search Engine Optimization will be the structure and layout of a website. Creating a website to be optimized for your market requires a completely distinct approach versus merely placing content on a website hoping that the searchers and search engines are matched up to it.

Learning the framework of precisely how to set up your websites and content on your website will mean the difference of several visitors per month to thousands of visitors per day. If your objective for creating a website is to find leads for your business or make sales of products this advice of site structure is a true lesson any online marketer needs to fully grasp.

The Keys?

Get this right and the keys to online success are yours. The keys being alluded to here are the Keywords. Every searcher on the internet is matched up to content based on the keywords they entered in the search bar.

Determining the best keywords pertaining to your market is generally a pretty obvious process for most people. For instance in the Home Business market it would be obvious that anybody searching for “Home Business” Information would be a searcher that could be a potential visitor to your website.

The problem with obvious is this, if this is obvious to you then it should really be safe to assume it is obvious to each and every other website that is seeking to get on page 1 for the “Home Business” Searcher.

Definitely discovering the free resources, and knowing just how to interpret what Google and the searcher are looking for is the main difference between competition or domination inside a large market.

SEO is actually a proven time tested source of traffic that cannot be pushed aside for the Online Home Business and Network Marketers.

Don’t be fooled there are no magic bullets or behind the curtain tricks to applying this highly rewarding traffic source. Collecting good functional information on exactly how SEO is executed will prove to be a priceless marketing strategy that is going to result in greater website presence, visitors and potential sales.
